Football websites - updated

Post by Steeronymus Gerkin » Wed Mar 20, 2013 8:40 pm

Thought it might be handy to have one of these as a sticky. I'll add in any suggestions. Edit: dead / shit ones removed. Including, sadly, Statto.com which was a brilliant resource but has been down for a year now.

Anybody who doesn't approve can fuck off by the way Smoke

Streams

The important bit, obviously.

Acestream: So simple even I managed it  Download player, watch match Smoke

Livefootballol

Acestream channel list Includes a download link for the Acestream player. They also put up Sopcast links but I never bothered downloading that as Acestream worked great for me.

Reddit - Soccerstreams This is the best page I found on Reddit for links. Loads get put up just before matches, often including the url you need to paste into the Acestream player to access the game you want, which is handy. Plenty browser links as well but they're generally not as good / reliable.

Other shit

101greatgoals Becoming a bit of a hotchpotch but they've usually got goals/highlights vids and gifs available very quickly after the event.

British Pathé NUFC clips from the stone age.

Caughtoffside.com

EPLindex.com

EFS Best site I know for historical football attendances stuff.

Football Observatory Quite dry but some interesting features.

FourFourTwo.com

Goal.com

I wish I was a geordie blog

NUFC.com Obligatory I suppose. Still nothing out there that matches its archives section on us.

Physioroom's PL injury table

Soccernet

Soccerway

Toon1892

Transferleague Ronseal.

Transfermarkt.com

WhoScored.com Great website. I imagine everybody knows it like.

It is a bit shit now you mention it lmao

Just a site in my bookmarks. Should be right up your street though - a load of fat yanks talking about sport Smoke

I've now replaced it with a different American website I just remembered.

My issue isn't that it's moronic Yanks running it, but that their stuff is just image slideshows. Read a couple of lines then click "next" to load a brand new page to read another few lines, fuck off, if I wanted an image gallery I'd go to Getty.

Their shit is also just lists, like "7 reasons why we're pricks". I remember in preseason they had one "12 NUFC starlets to look out for" and they basically just did a pic and a tiny blurb for pretty much every academy/young fringe player.

Fucking hate them.

Cheers. Added this and put streams at the top of the OP. Although that FSI page usually includes a link to VIPbox anyway like.

I've watched so little in recent years it's probably true now Smoke

Anyway, the revamped BBC football website is fucking terrible. (As is the BBC as a whole nowadays but that's another story.) I've completely stopped using it as a quick and handy general site for headlines, scores, tables, fixtures etc. It's just total crap.

Apparently it's designed more with mobile users in mind. I wish smartphones would fuck off - they are ruining the internet.

One good thing about yesterday at least - having binned Sky I discovered you can get mint streams using Acestream Smoke

And also that Reddit is miles the best place to get working links, although that's probably old news to most lmao

I'm getting all OCD looking at this out-of-date OP. Will tidy it up later, as pointless as it is on here lmao

Done.

Livefootballol is what I 've linked ^^ actually. I obviously wasn't paying too much attention as I thought it was something to do with Acestream   Edited now.

Best thing about using the Reddit page up there is you're getting real-time reviews of which are the best streams, saves time fucking about too much trying to find a reliable / decent quality one. And they're very harsh on anyone who posts shit links lmao

This Footballol / Acestream lark is canny like. Think I've watched four or five games this season, every one of them quality streams Smoke

The downside is Acestream left some annoying shit on my pc yesterday. Just going to install / delete after use every time I think.

Edit: it wasn't Acestream, it was fucking Avast lmao The cheeky cunts changed my homepage.

Binned, that's the last time I buy their free product :snooty: Smoke
