Re: Films & Telly thread (formerly Will Ferrell etc)

20% they fuck it up, S7 was their first one without books to go by and it was incredibly rushed in terms of people being half way across continents within an episode. In hindsight they wasted far too much time with shit like Reek's torture and Arya's training. It must be the last TV show of this siz...

Re: Films & Telly thread (formerly Will Ferrell etc)

I'd actually like it to come full circle and focus back on the history element. It's a History Channel production after all. The first season was quite educational from a historical perspective, although they've obviously freestyle'd and adapted it, but the key characters are all loosely in Nordic h...

Re: Films & Telly thread (formerly Will Ferrell etc)

S5 is awful. The latest episode was just pointless. Nowhere to go without Ragnar. I think it's not being renewed.

Re: Season 2018/2019

Atsu and Diame (first 20 minutes) the only ones who played badly for me. We should have gotten at least a point. Can't say I'm too bothered though, what's the difference between 15th and 9th if there's no ambition?

Re: The Magpie Group

Seriously, our fans are fucking idiots. Harping on about Sports Redirect and giving it the big one for buying their kits slightly cheaper at alternative retailers. Fucking morons, you're still putting money into Ashley's pocket even if you're not funding Sports Direct in the process. Stop putting mo...

Re: The Magpie Group

In general it just depresses me that suddenly everyone's like "boycott Sports Direct, don't buy anything there" and it's 2018. People should have been boycotting YEARS AGO, if not for NUFC then for the awful business practices they employ. I've not set foot in one for years and never buy from there....

Re: The Magpie Group

You'll have a go at me for being negative, but the latest plans appear to be to protest in front of Sports Direct stores on the first day of the season. That was done before wasn't it, to little or no impact? It's got to be stuff at SJP, especially with Sky cameras there. Empty seats, lots of them. ...

Re: The Magpie Group

I just hate the fact there are so many different fan groups in the first place. They're redundant mostly, with the same aims and desires. Very much a divide and conquer situation I feel. Uniting them under one banner has to be the final throw of the dice but it won't surprise me a jot if next summer...

Re: 2018 Summer transfers

Whatever helps you to justify your u-turn on boycotting Smoke Running it like proper football club did that, even though I don't particularly enjoy going anymore, Charlie loves it. He'll be watching on TV from next season though I suspect. What is particularly amusing is your pontificating from the...

Re: 2018 Summer transfers

From .com: What has to be questioned though is just why Rafa has gone on the record again - and was allowed to do so - in the knowledge that his latest quotes would stir up fans and Ashley accomplices alike. Seeking a confrontation, playing to the gallery or simply reaching the end of his tether - t...

Re: World Cup 2018

I think it becomes a different story in the knockouts. Groups are just about getting through no matter what. Argentina have looked dreadful but I won't count them out now, they're through, they can regroup. Quite confident we'll beat Colombia but it'll be very tight. I think Spain vs Croatia in the ...

Re: World Cup 2018

It's more up top where I'm not convinced. I don't like Sterling as an out and out striker. His finishing is poor. The number of times we've seen him miss open goals from balls across the 6 yard box...and he did it again vs Tunisia. Like you say though, plenty chances were created so no point changin...

I find Mbemba very puzzling. Always played well when Rafa used him, in many positions, and I'd say looked to follow instructions to a T. Oh well.

This is the first ever World Cup where I am not nearly excited for it much and it's only next month. Not sure why - uninteresting host country, not doing the sticker album (80p a pack or something mental), who knows. Maybe I'll get hyped soon, but hasn't happened so far. You've got to fancy Germany ...

For me: Your player of the season: Perez Most improved player: Lejeune, went from strength to strength. Worst player: Joselu - a couple of games where he missed some several sitters that would have had us home and dry. At best he "did his job", at worst, he was awful in front of goal. Best game per...
